Hello,
I am looking to set up a small wireless home network using a USB Flash Drive, mainly for file and printer sharing, but need some advice.
I have a desktop PC and I want to connect my laptop so I can share files and printer. I already have a wireless router whereby I can access the internet from laptop.I have been looking at routers online, but I am confused which ones to get as I want to ensure that these allow me to file share not just access the internet (which I can already do)
My questions are
1. Is there a particular kind of wireless router I need for file sharing? Any recommendations?
2. Will I need a wireless print server too?
3. Any recommendations for good for competitively priced equipment? Thanks

Flash drives are transfer media not storage media. This means they should not be used for long term storage unless you also have backups on other media. It also has no network OS so you would need to attach it to a workstation which is networked.
You already have a wireless router. You can network pcs with it. No extra equipment required.
You can get a network printer that plugs in like a workstation to the lan side of the router [assuming it has 4 lan ports] so you can print wired or wirelessly to it.
Imagine the power of knowing how to internet search

If your printer is physically connected to one of your PCs, you can set it up as a shared printer, and print to it from other PCs even if they are wireless. As wanderer pointed out, you could also get a printer that can be set up as a network device. I have an HP Photosmart 2575 which is set up as a true network printer ... has its own IP address, and can be used from any PC in the house because it is connected by network cable directly into one of my router LAN ports.
