Wireless G USB adapter installation

Help- I am tring to install Linksys wireless-G USB adapter om Windows 98 Toshiba notebook. This has installed fine on desktop and notebook with XP OP. However install hardware wizard on W 98 cannot seem to find the drivers whatever I do. Have tried installation disk as well as downloading updating drivers from website.

What am I doing wrong- is this a known problem

What version of windows 98 do you have? You may need Windows 98 SE (second edition) to get this to work.

Double check to make sure you meet the system requirement indicated on the linksys box.

You would have better luck using a Wireless PCMCA card on the laptop than the USB adapter.
