HI there, I have a few d-link DIR-615 connected strictly as AP's ,so all DHCP server etc is disabled.
wireless is as follows:
auto 20/40mhz
auto channelWhen I connect my lenovo laptop to either of the 2 access points, initially it connects at 300mb - on 2 channels, however after a few minutes it drops one of the 2 connected channels (I can see this via xirrus wifi scanner) and then the connection drops to 150mb)
any ideas?
Define a channel which is compatible in your country. "I'm tired. But then again I'm so hungry I can't sleep. But what's the point of eating if your sleepy?" - Sniff, The Moomins.
trouble is with only 1 channel, either with auto select (as per the question) or manual the speed drops to 150mb
Thing is, having a 300Mb Wi-Fi connection, makes use of several channels. This can cause congestion due to overlapping. It is very likely that your APs detect other Wi-Fi signals (interference) and, as a result, fall back to 150Mb.
