I'd like to connect one PC to our existing NT LAN using wireless, since his office does not have the Cat 5 cable drops. Is this feasible? What is the physical distance limit from his office to the server? What are the main security issues?

Thanks

You will need an wireless AP (access point) that will connect to your ethernet LAN via a patch cable. The PC will need a wireless NIC to converse with the AP. The coverage area is determined by different factors such as distance, building materials in the path, and interference from other electronic equipment operating in the same frequency range. A lot of vendors make these units and have 128 bit encryption for security available, Orinoco, Linksys, D-Link, SMC, Cisco, etc.
