I recently purchase an Orinoco gold wireless pc card and I am trying to connect to a network through an Apple Airport. Everything went smoothly when I installed it (which basically meant I plugged the card in) I immediately noted an icon at the bottom right hand corner of my screen and double clicked and it showed me that I was connected to the proper network and that the signal was good. However, when I tried to open IE 6.0 it told me that I had to work offline. When I attempted to connect and become "online", it basically wouldn't let me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Please note: I also connect through a dialup service and hardwired. The wireless connection would be a third way. I'm not sure if any of these other connections are getting in the way of my wireless connection. And to clarify things, these different connections include my home and work connections. Hope all is clear. :) Thanks again.

Wireless is generally a two step process. The first is to get the wireless NIC to talk to the wireless AP. The fact that you got a good signal connection shows you done good there.
But to connect to the internet you have to configure the wireless NIC just like you do a standard NIC. You have to go in and configure it to either a - obtain an IP address automatically or b - give it a specific IP address for the internet which is been set between you and your Internet Provider.
Try this real quick. Start a DOS prompt. And then type the command "ipconfig /all". That will bring up all the IP information on all you network cards including your wireless. If you wireless has something like 169.x.y.z or 0.0.0.0 you ain't gettin on the internet because you dont have a correct ipconfig.
Tell us what you get.
