Your query is pretty sketchy on details.

- Is this your home wireless network?
- Is the wireless network configured on a SOHO router you can access and control and if so, what is the make & model of the SOHO router?
- Is the wireless network encrypted and if so, are you entering the correct encryption key on the client when attempting to connect to the wireless network?
- Are the wireless clients able to "see" the WLAN you're trying to connect to?

That's a good start

I am the captain of my soul.

You need to get into the router configuration to enable wireless support. By default it is disabled. Disabled wireless also gives zero LED activities.
