Hope someone can help...
I got a new computer for my room for christmas, last year!
My wireless connection keeps dying every 5-15 minutes or so. The signal strength is excellent and I believe it has nothing to do with the wireless card or the router.
After a whole year of it constantly happening, I want it fixed for good!
My previous computer had the same card in and worked perfectly. The connection never dropped.
Now, when I'm surfing the net, it will randomly disconnect from the router - and the only way I can get it working again is by right clicking the "Wireless Network Connection" icon by the clock, and clicking "Repair".
After that, it's fine again... for another 5-15 mins.
I phoned up a freephone helpline, and they asked me to change the channel on the router, which I did... that didn't help.
They asked me to put certain security features on the router, which I did... that didn't help.
They asked me to make sure nothing was interfering with it, which I did... nothing was.
Several idea's later... they said to reboot the whole computer. I said to them it's a brand new computer that's been running for less than 48 hours! So, I rebooted anyway... and that didn't help.
When I phoned back, they wanted me to try everything again, so I basically hung up and never called them again. They were useless.
The wireless card I use is: Ralink RT2500 Wireless LAN Card.
I have also installed another wireless adapter recently to see if it was just the card mentioned above, but the same problem still happens. When I have both of them working at the same time, they both eventually die.
Any help to get this sorted would be greatly appreciated, and while I was typing this, it disconnected twice!!
Many thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,
Right click on My Computer->properties->hardware and then device manager.
Look in Network adapters, System devices and also in PCMCIA adapters. Look for any ! sign indicating error over there.
Right click on Ralink adapter and then go to Resources and look in conflicting device list.
See if this helps.
Seems like something on your computer is resetting it automatically again and again.
At last it could be problem with router it self.
Networkid
"Try more achieve more"

Done that... no "!" sign. It says "This device is working properly" and that there are "No conflicts".
I have a guess to what might be affecting it, I'll try something now just to see... Don't wanna sound dumb!Any other hints would be appreciated!
Many thanks,
Ryan
