Just bought the Netgear ADSL wireless router DG834GT. My laptop has the linksys 54g card. desktop has netgear 108 pci wireless card.
so problem is ever since i installed my router which is 2-3 hours ago, i'm constantly having to switch on/off the router, just to get online. i'm doing that perhaps every minute, other words connection keeps dropping. really furustrating experience so far. As i thought wireless router will make my life easier. and i spend nearly 100 quid on it.
Anybody who's had such drop connection experiences and has got a fix solution. pls reply back. thanks in advance.

If you have a 'turbo mode' or similar on your router turn it off. Failing that it could be interferance from another wireless device such as a radio transmitter, cordless phone or your next door neighbours wireless router! It could also be faulty hardware but this is unlikely as its quite a common problem with many 'working' routers. Check Netgear's website and make sure you have the latest firmware installed on your router, they provide instructions on how to update if you need to.
