For some reason, my wireless connection seems to disconnect whenever I leave my computer alone downloading something, and occasionaly when Im in the middle of doing something on my computer as well(ie in the middle or writing this). Anyway, heres info regaring my problem, I dont know if any or all of its realated to the problem, but here it is:
Its a linksys WUSB54G USB wireless adapter
(this is the 2nd computer ive hooked it up to so I dont think its the computer)
When I tried downloading and installing the software for it, it said it had not passed windows logo testing even though the linksys website said that it was for WindowsXP. I cliked "cancel" but I guess it installed anyways because its on my computer. However, the linksys software will not connect (though I havent really tried to make it to much) so I just click on the its logo in the system tray thing and click "Use windows XP network monitor". It then connects. Later when it disconnects, I click on the windows network monitor logo in the taskbar and click repair, to which a message comes up saying windows could not fix the problem, even though it did I am again connected.I think thats it. This problem is REALLY starting to annoy me so if anyone has ANY possible soloutions please let me know. Ill check this message board as often as I can so if you have any other questions regarding anything that might be related Ill answer them right away.
Thanks for reading, thanks for helping, and thanks again.Andrew_Arshinoff@hotmail.com

I have a Netgear USB adaptor that occasionally drops connection and quickly reconnects when I use it with an old notebook. The frequency of disconnects seems directly related to how insecure the USB connection is. On my desktop the adaptor also lost connection, and then started "going away" more than it worked. The USB port was dropping out. On 2 other USB ports the adaptor works fine--no disconnects.
My points: try another USB port if you have it; make sure the connectors are clean, and that the connection is secure.
If the website says that their software was tested with XP, uninstall what's partially there, and reinstall saying to "go ahead even without the digital certification." You can always switch back to Window's WZC if you like it better.
