Comment:
i have the intel built in wireless to my laptop and it has recently stopped working.

originally i was connecting to an unsecured network "linksys." after a while suddenly when i would connect intel proset wireless program would stop responding and freeze up. i repaired it using the installer, rebooted and it started working again. worked fine for a week or so, then the same thing again. this time i tried repairing again and it didnt work. so then i uninstalled it and this time i just installed the driver, not the proset manager. now i can see the networks, just as before, and whenever i try to connect to one (i just set up my own so i know its not the network) it just tries to acquire an ip forever and never connects. any ideas?

my DHCP service was not starting, turns out i had enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP off, that fixed it.
