Wireless cant detect

Hi. i have a router in my house. the problem is that i cant connect to it from far as in its right outside my room and i still cant connect to it. so i have to go out and get it connected and come back and at times it disconnects... please advise and help me out..

Maybe it's the location in it's in?.. I would try moving it to somewhere that is directly by where the computer is, because it can depend on what type of house you live in sometimes with wireless networks (I'm in a townhouse, and I sometimes have the problem of it dropping or not being able to connect).

no the thing is that the router is RIGHT outside my room like a few meters.. thats all.. and this is not the case with the other laptop . it connects from farther away... plz help me out

When you have the laptop in your room, what is the signal strength of your wireless network?

when it says its connected it is full( all bars are there excellent signal strength) BUT when i disconnect and refresh my list there is only one or two bars... is something wrong with the router or what?
