I have a Netgear wireless router MR814. I have two desktops connected to it via network cable and until last week I had three laptops connected to the network via wireless. Everything was working fine until last week when none of the laptops would connect to the network. The desktops with their cables are fine. I'm guessing that since none of the laptops are connecting, it must be the router. But since there's no problems with the desktops, could it be something else?
For your info, the above laptop has a Netgear wireless pc card adapter. When it's working, there is a solid light on the adapter. Now the light only flashes which means it's not connected.
The second laptop is a Compaq with Windows XP and also uses a Netgear wireless pc card adapter.
The third laptop is a Toshiba with XP and a built in wireless adapter.

Just to follow up, I was out of town for about a week. Before leaving, I unplugged all my electronic gadgets including the router, cable modem and all pc's and laptops to prevent a power surge during my absence. When I got back, I re-plugged all the hardware and lo and behold, I re-gained my wireless connections. I guess I needed to unplug everything for a longer period of time than a few minutes. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience.
