Wireless Bridge or AP?

Specs: Windows XP
Trying to distinguish between the two... Let me
just tell you the scenario so you can help.
At a hotel they have Internet access
connected to a wireless router. I am allowed to
connect to the router with an Ethernet cable
direct to use their internet. I am not given the
wireless WEP key. How can I use my own
hardware to get my own wireless signal from
the route

You would have to crack the WEP key, to get a wireless signal. Why won't they give you the key if they let you connect anyway?

Since the hotel already allowed you to connect to Internet with wired connection, you could request to connect wireless too as advised by guapo. You don't actually need AP or wireless bridge..
