At our work we have just installed new Compaq/HP nc8000 notebooks, XP Pro, Broadcom Wireless G and 10/100 Nic built in. I have setup a bridge between Wireless and 10/100Nic, We login to W2k Domain that uses DHCP. Problem, When connected via Cat5 and Wireless is turned on the we get two signal happening the 10/100 and the Wireless are sending out the same IP and causing lots of duplicate ip messages over network and clogging our network switch (Dlink DES6000) bandwidth. Turning wireless off or unplugging cat5 cable fixes problem immediately. Is not Sasser virus, Have latest drivers service packs et.
Any ideas on a permanent fix appreciated.

Regards

Scott

Yes, Can remove bridge OK, My reason for the bridge was to only use one IP per notebook from DHCP, i.e the IP the bridge gets from DHCP. Am i on the right track with this ?

Well then you need to decide if you're gonna connect wirelessly or wired.
You can do both at the same time. Not with a bridge like that. Sorry.

One or the other, but not both.

I understand that we should only need one or the other and that users should only use one or the other, but that doesnt help the fact that i have a situation were users leave both on and it causes these ip conflicts etc.
I am starting to think that bridging has a serious problem or we are just trying to do something it's not designed for.
