I have three machines that are hardwired to a gateway and two that connect to it wirelessly. All can get on the Internet fine. The three machines that are wired to it can also see each other--that is, they can network to each other's hard drives, exchange files that way, etc. I need the machines that connect via wireless to also be able to do this. Is this possible?

Is the "gateway" a single integrated wireless router where the three wired computers are plugged into the Ethernet ports and the two wireless computers are connected through the router's integrated wireless AP? If so, then if the wireless computers are configured for file sharing the same as the wired computers, then they should work the same way.

run network setup wizard on the 2 wireless machines and set the same workgroup as the other 3 machines, now they should all be on the same domain and should all see each other....good luck
BTW:if not sure what the workgroup is for the ones that can see each other, check by looking at control panel/system...it will tell there

Some routers have a check box to "bridge" wired and wireless networks. See if your router requires this to be checked
Example of Oxymoron:
Person who is pro life and anti sex education. Education is key to prevention. Prevent conception you prevent abortion.
