Hi
I have just purchased a Linksys wireless -g notebook adapter for my Advent 7095 laptop but I cannot find where exactly this fits to my Laptop. Can anyone help?

Hi there,
If you have a PCMCIA type wireless adaptor, they usually slot into the left or right hand side of your laptop.
Hope this helps,
Cheers, Lofty.

Hi again,
Further to my post above, check out the following URL, it should show you what I mean

Hi
Thanks for help but there is no slot at either side but there is a slot at the back of the laptop. The adapter does not fit in this slot though. Thanks

Hi Paul,
Sounds like your laptop does not have a PCMCIA slot. If this is the case, return the wireless adaptor and get your money back - sadly you won't be able to use it.
Assuming that you have an ethernet interface on your laptop - what you can do is buy a a wifi/ethernet bridge ( I use one for my XBOX downstairs and it works a treat ).
You won't have the same freedom as a PCMCIA wifi card will give you ( as the bridge will most likely be much bigger and will also require an external power source ) - but you should be able to work wirelessly.
Hope this helps and good luck!
Lofty.

You can also purchase a wireless USB adapter. This will not require a external power source and as long as you have a free USB port you should be able to use it. Linksys has a few different models WUSB54G which I don't really like. Also WUSBF54G which looks cool and has a display on it to tells you the networks avaliable in range. Also this WUSBF54G doesn't have any cords just connects straight into your USB.

Hi
Are these usb wireless connectors pretty standard or have you any other you would recommend?
Thanks
PaulDogman

There pretty standard. Most computers have them. There used to connect all types of devices to your computer. Mouse, Keyboard, Printer, Web Cam,....Basically any kind of Peripheral for you computer could probably be connected through USB which is probably why USB means Universal Serial Bus

According to the spec sheet I found:

this laptop doesn't support PC cards. However it's already wireless network enabled so you don't need a wireless adapter - ???
