Comment: For a long time now I've had a wireless network ("main") PC and 2-3 laptops connecting to a Sky wireless router. On the main PC, I also have a number of VMs running on a Virtual network. Anything connected to the wireless, and any of the VMs can access the interweb. I have some other PCs I want to play with, so connected them via a switch to the LAN port on my main PC. After a lot of faffing about, I got the LAN port to enable without breaking everything else. the wireless network is on 192.168.0.*, the wired one is on 192.168.1.*. I can ping happily from the main PC to the wired and wireless networks, but the wireless network can't see the interweb. I've tried bridging the wireless connection and the wired lan port, but then even less works! I'm at my wits end, any thoughts? thanks Oli

Reply: (edit)Plug the switch into a LAN port on your router instead of on the PC. To make things work on the PC, you'd have to enable ICS on it and then you'd be playing with the IP addresses on it just to get everything working properly.

Reply: (edit)Then you'll have to configure ICS (internet connection sharing) on the PC you're plugging the switch into. Just read the help files on ICS or google it.
