Comment:

I want to run a wired & wireless network in my home and have a question about set up.

This is my current configuration:
I have a wireless router on the first floor wih 1 PC (wired running XP), 1 PC (wired running 98) and 1 notebook (wireless)

What I want to add is the following:
On the second floor, 1 PC (wireless running 98 - plus there is a wired NIC) and 1 PC (wired running 98) I have an extra wired router available as well.
Basically is it possible for me to get the second PC connected to the network with the equipment that I have? I've never used a PC with 2 NICs and am not sure what kind of setup is needed as well to get it to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Anthony

that should work, the pc with wirless and wired should be able to bridge the two connections to allow wired upstairs to become wireless throught the router thru the computer. I havn't tried this yet but using the same net mask should make the two halves of the net see each other althought the computer using the 2 will be a bit slower when users connect from upstairs to downstairs but it will get the job done. If that dosn't work just go fully wireless upstairs and that should definentaly work.

heres a very bad pic i just made up to help...

upstairs---
wireless nic--com--wired nic->router

downstairs-
wirless router---net---computers
the wireless nic will connect to the wireless router. That NIC will connect the wired NIC and router upstairs. I hope i havn't confused you yet...JOBSDONE
oh don't have the routers with the same IP that'll screw everything up
