My laptop uses wireless connection but when I want to connect with a wire there is no option for LAN, only wireless and 1394. How do I enable this?

Do you have a Network Interface Card installed? With a laptop that will either be a PMCIA Card or if it is a more modern laptop, a Network Interface Card built in.
you can tall if you have a Network Interface Card installed if you have a socket that looks a bit like a telephone socket but a bit larger. Thats where the cable plugs into.
If you have a cable plugged into a Network Interface card then you need to ensure that the drivers for the card are installed and working correctly.

You may also have to go into the bios and enable the nic if its builtin.
Give a person a fish you feed them for a day. Ask a person to internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

Go to the LAN properties and then TCP/IP properties. Configure the NIC there.
