Comment: I was wondering if i could share files between a wired computer and a wireless computer in a network seems simple enough but i can't figure it out please help

Reply: (edit)Well, I've heard of it being done the other way around, I.E - having a wired network already setup, with one or more wireless computers being able to attach to that network. my suggestion is buy a wireless card for the wired computer.

Reply: (edit)1) Both clients have the same Workgroup name. 2) Enable File Sharing on the PC you want to read files from. 3) Create a user account on both machines with the same userid and password. Can't use the Administrator account, sorry. 4) Enable Sharing for the resource (drive, folder, or file) you want to share and give permission to the user account to read/write to it. Log in on the other PC under this user account and check Network Places. You should be able to see the resource. If you can't you probably have a firewall up on the client and it's not set up properly for a networked computer.
