I am having troubles trying to setup a network bridge between my wired lan and wireless lan. When I select both network interfaces to be bridged and right click "Bridge connections" it bridges them alright, but only the wired network works, I have tried DHCP and manually configuring but nothing seems to work. To start off my wireless ip on my bridging machine is 10.1.1.2 and the wired ip is 192.168.1.53, even if i change the wireless ip to something on the 192.168.1.x network it still doesn't connect. I've configured my second wireless client to the same network range and subnet masks but nothing seems to be working except the wired LAN.
Is there anything I need to select or do inorder for the wireless network to work aswell while bridged? As soon as I unbridge teh networks the wireless works and wired works.

Any ideas?

the wired and wireless lans, are they going to the same router? Or are you trying to share your pcs internet connection with the wireless lan? If so have you setup a ad hoc wireless network to another machine?

I don't want/need to share the wired internet with the wireless lan. My situation is setup as such:

My house: Computer with wireless usb adapter, 100mb wired connection to my home network.
- All I want to do here is connect this machine wirelessly with my mates machine across the road.

My mates house: Computer with wireless usb adapter, 100mb wired connection to router/switch.

Without the bridge I can access my computer from my mates computer over the wireless and vice versa, my mate can access the internet and computers on his lan through his wired connection aswell.

As soon as I put the bridge in place the wireless says it's connected but I can't send any data through it. The wireless networks are operating on the same channel and in ad hoc mode. I can't ping either machine over wireless.

So all I want to do is make My machine accessable to my mate across the road and the other machines on his network.
