HI GUYS I HAVE A NETWORK OF 2 PCs one is runing win2k and other is running winxp.i through a router i tried to setup the file sharing i can view my winxp pc through win2k but with winxp i only see the name of win2k pc when i try to connect it shows login/password screen how do i access my win2k pc without loggin in thanks

Create an user on the w2k machine that is the the name which you use on the xp machine. To do that, right click on My Computer/Manage/Local Users and Groups/Users/ Right Click and click New User...

Your on a peer to peer network, which will always require a username/password for the PC your trying to access.

You're right ThunderChicken....unless you do as "dude" has suggested and setup common users on each machine. Usernames AND passwords must match EXACTLY.
