Ok, im running a winME host, one nic for cable modem, one for network, and a winXP client, using a switch to connect them. Ive gotten them to see each other and share files, but i cant seem to get ICS to work. Whenever i install it on the host (winME) it runs the useless network config wizard. If i let that run and reboot, the sharing tab in the IE Connections properties box goes away; if i cancel the wizard after installing ICS the sharing box is there, but clicking it only brings up the stupid wizard, which seems to uninstall ICS. On the client XP box i cant find a way to enable ICS or anything like it. Any ideas on how to simply share the internet? Oh, and under Start->Programs->Acces->Commun there is something called internet gateway, and when i run it a box tells me that to use it the XP box must be using ICS, which i just cant find on the XP. I dont have much experiance with XP, so im kind of stuck. |
