Hey guys,

This is getting so frustrating because it worked when i first set it up but not now. Its a bit hard to explain but ill try =D

Heres the scenario:

At home i have two separate networks (one wired and one wireless) that i connected using a PC with XP Pro and "Routing and Remote Access". It was set up and working fine, i could ping and access shares on all of the PC's.

But stupid me, not content to leave things alone, started playing with it and now the problem is this - I can ping all the machines from all the other machines no problem, and all machines can ping the second router. The PC's from the second network can't ping the router in the first network, but can ping all the PC's.

One of the PC's in the first network is a Linux server (holding movies etc) and i can ping it but can't access the samba shares on it (the other computers in the first network can access the share so it works fine and nothing has been changed since it worked before).

It seems to me that R&RA has been messed up somehow and isn't routing the data correctly. But if this is the case why can i still ping each network from the other network?

Any ideas?

I know its a pretty crappy explanation but its the best i can do for the moment.

Heres some specs

Network A
Router : 192.168.0.1
Mask : 255.255.255.0
Several PC's from 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.10
Gateways for all of these are set to 192.168.0.3

Network B
Router : 192.168.1.1
Mask : 255.255.255.0
Several PC's from 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.10
Gateways for all of these are set to 192.168.1.3

XP Pro Router (R&RA Enabled, all IPSEC and filtering disabled)

Wired NIC : 192.168.0.3
Mask : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : 192.168.0.1

Wireless NIC : 192.168.1.1
Mask : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : 192.168.1.1

-Thanks
Matt

This is strange because my Xbox Media Centre from network 2 can connect to the share on network 1, but a PC from network 2 can't.

And also none of the computers on network 2 can connect to the internet , which is connected to network 1

It seems like the 2 wireless nicks and the router Network B have identical IP addresses, also it is the gateways' IP address, perhaps the wireless Ip address should be different?? and assigned the

Opps, sorry, the last line should have read "assigned proper gateway IP Adress."

No they are different schemes 192.168.1.x and 192.168.0.x but i had also tried it with 192.168.0.x and 172.16.0.x. It is so strange i can access the shares etc now as i had a bit of a play with it. But anything on network 2 can't access the internet, i can't even ping the modem.
