Reply: (edit)I have exactly the same problem... I was just about to post my question... so if you don't mind... I will add mine here... ----- I have read, read and read... but I haven't find an specific answer... and I'm only getting more confused. This is my scenario... I have 3 computers, each one with windows xp pro connected to a Liksys BEFSR41 router sharing sbc-dsl. Every computer can connect to the internet; but... now I'm trying to do the LAN setup... How can I do that? and is it possible with just the router? I have also a Linksys EFAH05W (5-port hub); do I need to use that one too? I have run the Network Setup Wizard... but without any luck; my computers just can't communicate eachother; and it stops responding when I click on "View Workgroup Computers". I don't know how, but just one time I wa able to see the sharedocs icon of other computer, but when I tried to click on it, it said something about not accesible, permission and network path not found... Would you help me please? thank you! ----

Reply: (edit)Answer #1 First of all make sure your NIC cards in each computer are set-up to obtain an IP automatically. This should be default but it depends on what else the computer is used for (work, etc. If so, consult with company IT staff). Then enter the default gateway into each computer which should be 192.168.1.1 (linksys default) Then make sure DHCP is enabled in the router set-up. Answer #2 make sure you have the firewall's disabled in each PC and then run the network wizard on one computer, create a network disk, and then run that disk on each of the other two computers. If they still connect to the internet but not to each other than you have other problems, and that could be anything.
