I'm terrible with computers and I'd really appreciate some help.

I'm on my family computer right now (Windows Vista) which is run by a router. My parents have 2 labtops in the house that I believe Geek Squad connected to the internet for them. I really don't want to pay $200 and this is why i'm asking.

The computer I have in my room USED to be my family computer, this computer that I have in my room is WINDOWS XP. I wanted to know the easiest way to connect my family computer (Windows Vista) to my computer in my room (Windows XP)

My vista computer has its own network, and I know the WEP code and all that, I just don't know how to connect to my family computer from my computer

BASICALLY, whats the easiest way to make a connection to my WINDOWS XP computer (no internet) to my WINDOWS VISTA computer (wireless network).

I'm really sorry if this was confuzing.. I don't know how to better explain it, any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Email me if you can help, or post here

Thanks alot,
Scarmazzi

Is the router a wireless router? If it is I would use a wirekess card and connect to it that way.

Yeah you will need to either connect that Windows XP computer to the network (the the router) with a network cable or a wireless network card.

If you are just wanting to be able to access files on the other computer, be sure to enable File Sharing in your network settings. BTW, when you say "(no Internet)" for your Win XP PC, do you mean you don't have Internet acceess or don't want it?
