I am trying to solve this problem for a client. They have a Windows 2003 server, and 4 windows XP workstations, and 2 Windows 2000 Professional workstations which are part of a domain. The 2 windows 2k workstations take about 15 - 20 minutes to load. When they get to the step where they load the personal settings and computer settings, it takes forever. We have had no problems with the windows XP workstations, and the problem just started recently with the Win2k machines.
I have already taken the machines off the domain, restarted and they booted up fine. I re-joined them to the domain and it took forever again. they are pointing to the main server which is where they should be pointing. when this problem started some of the machines were pointing to the wrong DNS but we fixed that and the 2 Win2k machines are still starting up slow. there are no errors in the event viewer.
