I have a win98 machein on my network with a usb printer I have installed the printer drivers on the other pc's and the share is good but none of the pc' will print to it..

I also have a Linux Slackware Machein as my gate and web server..

Can you print to a usb device on a TC/IP network ,, or could my Slackware box be stipping the jobs ?

All the mapping options for a network printer
are LPT

Try to segment first your network printing. Print first on a segment of your LAN that doesn't pass a gateway...then check the results.
