Win98 lan-router

Specs: Windows 98
I have linked a router to switch and configured all my computers to use it as gateway to the internet. all XP computers work fine but I cant browse with win98. Am able to ping even external IP on them but the browser fails to load any webpage. Any IDEAS?

Can you ping the router? Try a static IP address & static DNS.

That sounds like a DNS issue. Open a command prompt window and type:

ipconfig /all

Do the same on one (or more) XP PC's and compare the DNS entry. In fact, compare all entries. They should all be identical with the exception of the IP address itself which should be different, but in the same subnet.
