WIN98 as the NOS ?

Hi there !
I have decided to create a LAN network with a few PC’s for training purposes. The machines are not really cutting edge stuff, mostly P233. Currently they all have Win98 install because they were used as standalones. I was thinking of living Win98 as my NOS so that I don’t have to install NT4.0 in all the 10 machines. This is the first time I attempt to do this on my own and I think I’ve got quite a bit of info on how to do it, I’m just not sure if 98 would be ok for my NOS.
Please let me know if you have any bad experiences with 98 as NOS and also any other things I should watch out for.

If you're trying to train for networking then you'll want either NT4 workstation or Win2000 Pro although Win2k prob won't run too well on those machine's... it depends what apps your throwing on there.
What kind of training do you plan to use these machines for?

Win98 is not an NOS (Network Operating System) - it is a client OS. Big difference.
Your question doesn't expose any servers, so I cannot figure out what benefit you would have networking 10 clients together, unless for printing purposes or sharing a few files.
If you are in a training environment, and Win98 works fine, then run with it. Plenty of posts on this board address protocol usage and peer to peer networking.
