February 14, 2012 at 22:46:28
Specs: Windows 7

Computer has windows 7
installed Windows Update.
Now we can't connect to the internet.
We get an error saying the computer cannot find the proxy server.
We don't have a proxy server.
We've never had a proxy.
The settings are not set to look for a proxy server.
But we still can't connect.
The computer will connect to the wireless network, but we get no internet connection.

Open Internet Explorer, then click Tools > Internet Options.
Click the Connections tab.
Click LAN Settings.
You should see 3 tick-boxes.
Tick the top-most one for "Automatically detect settings".
The other two tick-boxes below that should be UNTICKED
Click 'OK'
Restart Internet Explorer.

Yeah, been there, done that!
And unfortunately, it already looked like checks where there were supposed to be no checks...
But thank you for the suggestion...
Anyone else?
