Computer has windows 7 installed Windows Update. Now we can't connect to the internet. We get an error saying the computer cannot find the proxy server. We don't have a proxy server. We've never had a proxy. The settings are not set to look for a proxy server. But we still can't connect. The computer will connect to the wireless network, but we get no internet connection. HELP!
Open Internet Explorer, then click Tools > Internet Options. Click the Connections tab. Click LAN Settings. You should see 3 tick-boxes. Tick the top-most one for "Automatically detect settings". The other two tick-boxes below that should be UNTICKED Click 'OK' Restart Internet Explorer.
