Greetings,

I just set up a Windows 2000 Server with terminal services installed in administrative mode in order to enable remote desktop. The Windows server in question is running several services who's log windows are minimized to the toolbar.

The issue: when I connect to this server using pcanywhere I can see the minimized log windows and taskbar icons. However, when I connect using remote desktop I see nothing on the toolbar nor in the taskbar yet the services are running so the log windows should be open.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening or how to remedy this occurance? Thanks in advance!

Justin

MiloCold, when you connect via remote desktop you are not connecting to the console desktop like you would with PC Anywhere. That is, you don't see the same desktop session as you would if you were sitting in front of the server.

What I would recommend doing is this. Login to a remote desktop session and setup the log windows and whatever else you want to see. Then instead of logging off, choose "disconnect" from the logoff dialog. This will end your terminal services session without logging it off. The next time you connect (as the same user) you will see the desktop in the state you left it when you disconnected.
