I need to know if something will work regard a bridge connection.

Ok what I want to do is run a bridge connection....Modem to PC,Pc to Xbox. I have a regular ethernet card for my PC and regular ethernet cord to run from the modem to the PC. The only question is to get a connection from the PC to Xbox. From what I understand I need a crossover cable from the PC to xbox.

My question is I will need something coming in to the PC and one going out. I have this Usb adapter thing that allows a ethernet to plug into the other side of it so basically I am set on getting a connection from the Modem the the PC(it already works). Now if I were to buy a crossover or have one running from the Lan card to the xbox would it work and give the xbox a connection if I setup a bride on my PC?

I understand a router is better but I am doing for a certain reason. Thanks

You need a second NIC in the PC (USB sucks, go PCI), a crossover to go between the PC and the xbox on the second NIC. Finally, you must enable Internet Connection Sharing on the Internet connected NIC on the PC.

I have no idea why you're doing it this way, but that's how.

For the money you're better off going with a 4-port home router. Modem to Router, router to PC and to Xbox. With ICS your Xbox only has Internet when the PC is up and running; the PC will need a software firewall (which isn't as good as the hardware firewall in routers).

For more money get a wireless router and a wireless game adapter. Going wireless allows your Xbox more mobility.
