I have just installed a new hdd and have loaded Vista O/S using original Dell reinstall discs, have also loaded drivers using original dell driver disc. I cannot get the wireless network to work. I have checked device manager and the broadcom netlink is showing as working, checked Setup and the wireless section is all showing enabled, WiFi catcher comes up on windows screen but when clicked just disappers. Have connected to internet by hard cable into router. Am now at a loss can you assist?

Have you installed the drivers for your wireless router?

I have a netgear wireless router that is connected to the desktop and is up & running. The new hdd went onto a laptop but I havent installed any drivers for the wireless router as when I first got the laptop (approx 18 months ago) all I did was slide the wifi switch at the side and it searched for wireless n/ws and picked up 4 or 5 (neighbours and mine) then just selected my network and entered the security code. When enabled the WiFi isnt picking up any n/ws and wifi light doesnt come on.
