I bought a refurb Netgear WPN824 RangeMax wireless router but am having trouble with the install. I'm running a Gateway laptop with Vista 64 and my modem is the one provided by my ISP. When my ethernet cable is plugged directly from the modem to the computer, everything works. I got the wifi set up and working but when I restarted my computer, I lost the connection and couldn't reconnect. Now I cannot see the network.
Does anyone know how I can fix this, or in the alternative, how to undo everything that I've done so I can start from scratch?

Reset your router back to factory default setting and you can restart the configuration, you can read router manual if not too sure how to reset it. Also you can take a look on this wireless network setup tutorial to get more ideas.

When you plug in the ethernet cable directly into your computer, the computer needs to authenticate to your ISP to establish the internet connection.
If you want to use a router instead, the router will do the authentication for you. So your computer only needs to be configured to get IP and DNS address informations automatically from your router. The router must be configured with the necessary informations for the ISP.
Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!
