|My broadband cable connection is hooked up to a router. When I logged on this morning, the internet wasn't working (limited connectivity). I disconnected the router and hooked the cat5 cable straight into the modem. The internet worked fine. When I reconnected the router the internet didn't work again. I have checked my laptop and other wireless devices - they can connect to the network but there is no internet access. |
I've also tried the following:
- power cycling the modem
- power cycling the router
- upgrading the router's firmware
- changing the wireless channel on the router
None of those have resolved the issue.
The router is using WPA2 encrypted security and a dynamic IP address. I haven't tried changing these settings as I don't think that's the issue.
This is the first time this has happened, I have been using this router without any changes to it for about 4 years.
