Comment: Hello every1!! :D OK...I'm visiting a website in my laptop, after like 10 mins it'll just disconnect!!! :@ It all happens slowly... First, IE doesnt load the pages...then MSN and ICQ stops...but I go to where it says which WAP I'm connected to and it says "Connected"!!! :@ I try to disconnect it and then connecting again, and that 10% of the time works... Now, the other 90% of the time, I click on "Disconect" and it crashes!! :@ I close that and Windows Explorer goes away with my taskbar and all my windows!!! :@ Some seconds later it comes back, but the Wireless Networks tray icon is GONE!!! So I had to restart, and thats what I have to do everyday, restart, restart, restart...:( The laptop is a Toshiba Stellite A75, and the wi-fi adapter is an Atheros AR5004G... HOW DO I FIX THIS?!?!?! IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!!!!! :@ MUCH THANX!!!!!!!!! :D El-Trucha http://www.masterleito.ath.cx ftp://tsfc.homeftp.net hotline://tsfc.ath.cx

Reply: (edit)No, I haven't...I'm outta money!! :( And how do I know if it is compatible?? My access point is a D-Link DI514 router... Hmmm...could it be that there's a videogame box acting as a mousepad below a wireless mouse and a Compaq monitor both blocking its path to the WAP?? :| There also are 2 speakers with the monitor... Is that it?? (sorry, I'm a wireless n00b...:P) Thanx!! ;) El-Trucha http://www.masterleito.ath.cx ftp://tsfc.homeftp.net hotline://tsfc.ath.cx

Reply: (edit)naw you should be cool, i hooked up a d-link WAP in a big two story house (it was their 3rd cheapest one) and it was ontop of a router, by a monitor and stero speakers, by a playstation2, tv and stereo system, and wireless phone, i went downstairs to the farthest point from it in the house and still have a very strong signal, but note that i was using a DLINK PCMCIA card for my laptop...i have heard of the brand that u are using so ya know...it sounds like your computer doesn't like that card to much, i would try to take it back and get a different brank, dlink preferable, i personally do not like mixing brands with things like that, it will work, but if i have a dlink WAP i setup a dlink pci or pcmcia card, and i normally dont run into any problems, the one time that i did was on a older 98 machine, and it kept dropping signal because the machine just couldn't handle it, it didn't like that card...so ya know, that's basically all i can tell ya for now! hope that helps Complete Computer Service, Inc.
