WiFi: Cannot access Secure sites

I'm unable to access secure sites on a networked PC.
Here's the setup: XP SP2 PC connected to AOL via Dlink Wireless Router/(built in) DSL Modem, this PC can access all sites. At the other end of the wireless connection, the PC is XP SP1 with a Dlink wireless adaptor and this is the one that fails full internet access.
I used the Windows Networking Wizard along with the Dlink software to configure this but obviously I've done something wrong, what have I missed?
