why will nobody help with this??

Ok My girlfriend and I both have laptops running vista basic. suddenly last night hers lost connection while mine remains connected to our home wireless. She shows full connection bars on our network but we keep getting the page not found error. We restarted the modem and router, restarted her computer, did ipconfig/renew and ipconfig/release but we cant get connected. Heres the big problem. Her computer is in Polish and I cant read any of the menus, plus she is at work and is leaving for Uganda tomorrow morning at 5 am and Needs me to have this fixed by tonight when she gets home at 11. when i click ipconfig in the cmd EVERYTHING is in polish except the numbers. Any suggestions? when i plug the cable into it from the router should it automatically connect or do i need to do somehing? Strange but Skype still works!! ***??? skype works but firefox and IE dont work.

Ipconfig /all gives me this info but i had to translate from polish

Looks like we have a interface and IP confusion problem.

If you connect wired you should disable the wireless connection by going to Manage Network connections, right mouse click on the wireless and click on disable.

Windows gets confused with two gateway entries as to which it should be talking to.

You can't be connecting to the same router because your ip addressing is wrong.

Wireless you have 192.168.1.x
Wired you have 192.168.0.x

The wired has no gateway entry [hence no internet that way] and appears to have the normally assigned gateway entry 192.168.0.1 as its ip.

What does your computer get for ip?

I suspect your router dhcp server isn't configured correctly
I also suspect you are attaching to someone elses wireless network without realizing it.

What is up with the no help message?

You posted your original post directly before this one. I understand the frustration, but not everyone who accesses this website is here 24/7, so a little patience couldn't hurt.

Besides, it's against the rules of this site to double-post. If you wanted to make a comment, you should have made it in the original thread.
