Why have to log off?

Win98SE network - one computer has to log off (no user name) to be able to see the others. Once it logs back in, it's ok but now has a user name attached to it...

You have to have a username one the 98Se computer for ID purposes when networking. If you have a blank username at the login screen in 98 then it won't see the network. Or (as you aleady know) it will force you to log off and back in and put in a name. Just make a user name and log on with it. You should have no problems.

Thanks - I kept reading the archives and deleted the *.pwl files.. this let it boot up and go into Windows ok wo/password but using my USERNAME... (need to go in automatically because of VoiceMail software if power goes out etc and I'm out of town)... So, things are looking good!!! Thanks
