why does my network printer print in color on

Specs: Windows XP
I am connected to a network Printer and some mornings i can print in Color and other mornings i can only print in Back however someone else then can print in Color? is it a matter of having to log on first in the morning to obtain color?

It doesn't matter who connects first. Correction, it shouldn't. You didn't mention the make/model of your printer so it's hard to say for certain but I know that with every color laserjet HP and Lexmark I have experience with, it wouldn't have anything to do with who connects first.

This is more likely to do with the actual print job you're sending and it's associated settings. Next time you send something that's supposed to be in color and it comes out in black and white, start to resend it again and see if and this time check all the settings of the print job before you send it to the printer.
