why can't i connect to my wireless network on

Specs: Windows XP
I have a notebook that has had wireless installed on it. Other laptops can connect without ethernet cable..but notebook needs it. My carrier has done what they can to help...but insist there is a program installed on notebook that blocks the wireless signal. How can I find out which one it is?

Check the device manager, for whether the wireless network card is installed correctly and has no problems.

Did you get a list of available wireless networks in your environment, to choose your wireless network?

Did you get a valid ip address for your wireless network card? (Check ipconfig /all at the command prompt).

Are you using the correct SSID, encryption type and encryption key at your computer for your wireless network?
