Which way to install Dell 1320c on a network

Specs: Win7 64bit, Intel C2D/4gig
What is the best way to install a Dell 1320c on a small office network? Can I install through USB, connect ethernet cable and then enable sharing. Or should I use the IP address without connecting USB? Is one way any more efficent than the other? Or....is connecting through USB and then sharing the printer possible over a small office network? I would be connecting it to a Dell Dimension 3000 (I think). All replies and opinions are greatly appreciated and respected.

Ethernet is a bit faster than USB2, and supports longer cables, but those usually don't matter. Probably more important is the port count on the computer. If you have only one Ethernet port, and several USBs, it might be better to reserve it for the router when necessary.

Use the IP address? You mean wireless? Both wireless and ethernet will use an IP.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I didn't specify wired wireless. It will be wired. You make perfect sense. There is nothing labeled on the cables, the switch or ethernet ports in each room. His network person isn't answering calls or emails at the moment. What a mes! Thanks again for the reply. I will definitely file the info you gave me for the future. You guys are the still the cats!
