Sometimes the network key is on a label on the underside or back of the router.

If there is no label with these details or the key has been changed you may need to hard reset the router and set up the security details again.

Download the full manual from the router mfg's website. There will be either a default password (if it has not been changed) or details where to find it (label or otherwise), and a way to reset it to defaults. That is where you should begin your search for the answer.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Thank you for all replies...I did try all the numbers and codes on bottom of router, still get the same message. Unfortunately, I am VERY technically challenged, so I am turning the project over to my DIL (Daughter in law) who has a lot more tech savvy than I. Will let you know the outcome, thanks again!

You connect with an ethernet/cat-5 cable to the router. Then login to the default admin page; after-which you simply find your way to the wifi setup section, and the password will be there (in the secirity section).

Depending onthe make of your router depends the actual ip address for your router's admin page.

Typically it's one of these.

Although there other vaitations too. Make/model of your router would allow pholks here to guide you more specifically/accurately.
