Where is wireless switch on my Toshiba laptop

Specs: Windows XP

cant connect to the internet, wheres the wireless switch or the network plugin for a wired connection

What's the exact model/make of that contraption? Is that a Satellite A105-S171? If yes, should be a WiFi slide switch, or use Fn+F8 to enable wireless.

Toshiba's I've come across have both a hardware switch,
including a little led alongside, and the Fn + F8 combo. The first
is essential, the second is a bit arbitrary. The only way to
confirm if it's workinbg is to check in Device Manager (under
'System' in Control Panel).
