I need the passwords for my Westell A90-36R614 router/modem to access the Admin section of it, any ideas?

Try "admin" or if it comes with software, it's hidden in the software.
The other hand says it could be company specific. Eproms are encoded with special passwords made only for your ISP so as to limit download speed, users, or ports.

Yea, thanks for that. I've tryed all conbinations of Admin etc, and still no luck. The package didn't come with any software, but the software that would be usefull to have which enables you to configure it is called "WebShare" but that has been discontinued and i can't find a copy of it anywhere.

Sounds to me like it might be time to install a new (Linksys or Cisco) router. Just a thought!
If that isn't an option (for whatever reason) see if you can't bypass the password with similar steps applied to Cisco routers. Depending upon the IOS version, you would interupt the boot up process with a Ctrl C disable the NVRAM file, boot up again and change the password. This may or may not work with this vendor's equipment/software.

Thanks for the idea, but i'm not sure its the same process, mines more of a flick of a switch and its on kinda thing. From the lable at the back, i can tell you it has a WindRiver VxWorks system or something. I've had a look at their website, there didn't seem to be any kinda information about this perticular router.
I also tryed to hack the password, but seena as I am a novice at this, it didn't go well. I think the router has got somekinda in built defencce from a program trying every since password combination. I might have another go at this, but with a refined dictionary, and a better program.

Don't waste too much time on it. I don't know how much you paid for this unit or what "bells & whistles" it came with but it might be wise to purchase a new router. Using equipment that isn't supported by the vendor will only cause more headaches later. Try a search on ebay...it can't hurt.

Well, I've e-mail their UK Tech Support (US wasn't that helpfull) and to see if anyone there was around when that product was being sold. They shud reply like Monday, if they don't know, and I get no feedback from any other tech support boards, then I will consider buying a new router. Just I wanna make sure i've tryed all the options before I admit defeat.

Yet another good reason for not buying unknown me too hardware. Get something more current/useable.
