I dont know if this is the place to be posting this but I really need help. I recently got a DSL modem from bellsouth and they use the Westell modems. I am using the USB connection through it right now because I cant get the ethernet connection to work. It's like it doenst even recognize that the modem is there. So, what I am asking is how do I get the modem to recognize that there is an ethernet connection present.

Yeah they said my NIC might be bad, but it works for other things and for another modem i have. They said try going through the installation again and it will detect it. Also, the reason I am wanting to use the ethernet is because I am getting download speeds at 20kb... is that normal for USB or is there something wrong with the modem or my connection even.
