First off I want to say that Verizon Business DSL cannot properly support WESTELL Routers and WESTELL will NOT support these routers either as noted in my email from them: "The Westell product you have is a modem/router or wireless adapter that is
supported exclusively by Verizon. Please contact Verizon for support"

Its crazy, I even had the verizon guy tell me that they cannot properly support the router.

ANYHOO>..
Here is my situation and I hope that someone out there gets it:

-I have the WESTELL 327W router with 5 static IP addresses
-the main address is xxx.xxx.xxx.128
-The westell is set up ROUTED BRIDGE with the WAN DHCP off.
-the lan DHCP is on (but has nothing to do with it-just thought I would add the info)
What I want to do is use one of my other static IP addresses xxx.xxx.xxx.129 to connect to a different server on my network for hosting a website.

What I used to do (with my old ISP) was input the ip address into the tcp/ip settings along with the DF gateway, Primary, secondary dns and so on...connect to the router via one of the 4 extra ports on the back and waahhllaah...anyone in the world who wanted to connect to our ip address and hit the server with the web page had no problem.

Now...after speaking with about 20 tech people at verizon (no lie I would call them back with the same question and get a million different answers...by doing a little detective work I come across tidbits here and there...) the last guy pointed me to the services and said it had to do with a setting in there, but this is also the same guy who said that they can't support this service properly so I was on my own.

Any suggestions>?

Yes, this should be all you have to do. Does your WAN interface on this device have a static IP address provided by Verizon? Did you assign your .128 (first in block) address as your LAN IP of this router? Which ever address you decide to be the LAN IP of the router, this is what your default gateway will be.

Have you done any of this? Have you tried pinging parts of your network? Have you done any trace routes?

I have a Westel 327W forwarding my static IP to a MikroTik router successfully. If you are routing your first static IP to a PC then you will still use the routed bridge option. If you are using your 327W as a simple DSL Modem bridge ONLY, then you will use the 'bridge' mode alone.

Sounds like what you are trying to do is use a static IP for your computer, but a private IP for another server that offers a web server? Is this correct? In that case, you will need to use port forwarding under services and forward your port 80 activity to that particular machine.

If I am understanding what you have said correctly, this should be the way you wish to approach this. Also, don't forget most Win2000/WinXP boxes allow you to have more than one IP address/gateway. If you placed a routable IP address on one machine and a non-routable IP (private) is what you are trying to get to - then give yourself another private IP and add the gateway to your private IP network under gateway as well.
