I am a newbie for home networking, and have exhausted all my tutorials and such. Setup: I have two desktops running Windows XP or XP Pro. Both can access Verizon Online DSL using my Westell 327 Versalink. Comp1 is using ethernet direct to Westell. Comp2 is using a wireless Belkin card. Problem: From Comp2, I can see Comp1 on the workgroup after running Network Setup Wizard on both computers, but I cannot access any shared files (not authorized network resource, invalid network path). From Comp1, I cannot even access the workgroup and does not see Comp1.

The modem can see both devices (using MAC Address filtering) and recognizes them on the LAN (both are inactive?). Is there a configuration I must use for the two computers to talk to each other through the Westell?

Neither desktop has peer-to-peer capability checked in "Add Windows Components" from the control panel. Do I have to install this to make the network run?
