Specs: Microsoft Windows 7 Professionnel, 2.83 GHz / 4095 MB

I made this network on a D-Link router in WPA...thing is that the Nintendo DS of the kids don't do WPA only WEP.....fine...i did my network in WEP(crossing fingers that neighbours wouldn't notice, and they didn't, so far) Now my old laptop, an Acer don't like WEP, and it disconnect very often from the net. I don't get it since it did fine on WPA(Acer) even if it disconnect from time to time.

My question; is this driver related and/or just the facts that this is an old laptop. What are my options.

I thought WEP was older than WPA, so I'm surprised your old ACER wireless card does not support WEP security modes. You may want to try getting a newer card, or play around with the settings / driver for the card you have and see if you can get something with better WEP support.
